Jaipur, Oct. 3 -- A 20-year-old NEET aspirant from Delhi was found dead in his rented room in Kota's Vidya Nagar, with police suspecting it to be a case of suicide, a senior police officer said on Thursday, taking the number of such incidents in the state to 19 so far this year. According to a police officer aware of the matter, the student was living in Kota for two years, and was not affiliated with any local coaching institute. He was preparing for NEET through online classes, said Vidya Nagar station-in-charge officer Mukesh Meena, adding the body was found by a neighbour on Wednesday night. "The post-mortem examination was conducted on Thursday and the body was returned to the family," said Meena. According to the deceased's father, who spoke to local media after arriving in Kota, he purportedly told family members that he owed a sum of Rs.40,000 from an unidentified person, who was allegedly harassing him as a result. No suicide note was recovered from the deceased's room, said police. The father also alleged that neither his son's mobile phone nor his wallet was found in the room.
