Neet aspirant dies by suicide in sikar days before June 21 retest
Sikar, June 17 -- A 22-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide in Rajasthan's Sikar district, just days before he was scheduled to appear for the medical entrance exam retest on June 21, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased was a resident of Nawalgarh in Jhunjhunu district, police said. The student was scheduled to appear for his third attempt at NEET.
Udyog Nagar SHO Rajesh Kumar Budania said, "The incident occurred at a rented flat in a residential complex. The father of the deceased works as a tile contractor in Mumbai and rented the flat to support the education of his children."
Police said the student returned to Sikar on Monday morning after dropping his mother at their village. Later in the day, he allegedly died by suicide and the incident came to light when his elder sister and younger brother found his body upon return to home, police said.
The siblings alerted neighbours, who informed the police and a team was sent to the spot.
The SHO said that a suicide note was recovered from his room which purportedly said: "I am going far away. I don't know where I am going. Sorry!"...
