Jaipur, Aug. 20 -- After three years, National Commission for Scheduled Caste has held a high-level meeting with the state government to monitor the schemes and condition of the crimes against scheduled caste communities, officials said on Tuesday. "The commission is on a two-day visit in Rajasthan. Ujala Sharma from the chief minister's office briefed the commission about all the welfare schemes running in the state for the scheduled caste people. The commission have given some specific instruction for their better implementation which will be followed in future," Avinash Gehlot, social justice and empowerment minister, said after the meeting. He further said: "The secretaries of all departments were present in the meeting and they showed the status of their schemes and discussed every issue that may impact the scheduled caste people. The panel took note of all the issues and it will continue for two days." "The outcome of the meeting was positive. This meeting happened first time after 2022. We have discussed about the budget allocation in every scheme for SCs. Both the national commission and the state government are concerned about the development of the SCs," the minister said. He stated, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma in the state, the state government is benefiting the Scheduled Caste category through various schemes for their welfare and upliftment." Minister Gehlot cited the 2011 census and said that a 17.08% of the total population in Rajasthan belong to the Scheduled Castes. "We assured the Commission that efforts to extend the benefits of State Government schemes for Scheduled Castes to this class will be further accelerated," he said....
