Jaipur, Dec. 28 -- The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) has intensified preparations for Jaipur Metro Phase-2 with a focus on providing seamless metro connectivity to Jaipur International Airport by integrating all airport terminals with a proposed underground metro station. A coordination meeting held on Saturday at the airport brought together senior officials from JMRC, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airports Authority of India (AAI), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and Jaipur Airport management to fine-tune the plan. Officials said the proposed underground metro station at the airport has been strategically planned to ensure direct and smooth access to Airport Terminal-1, Terminal-2 and the proposed Terminal-3. The objective is to allow passengers to move between the metro and airport terminals with minimal walking distance, barrier-free access and clear wayfinding. JMRC director (company affairs) Mahesh Bhuradia said that connecting all three terminals through a single underground metro station would mark a major leap in Jaipur's urban transport network.
