Jaipur, Aug. 22 -- The Food Safety and Drug Control Department has seized medicines worth around Rs.1.40 lakh allegedly being stored and sold without a valid licence out of a warehouse in Jaipur's Chitrakoot, officials said. Principal secretary (Medical and Health) Gayatri Rathore said that inspecting officials recovered sales bills, invoices, receipt books and other documents issued in the names of different firms. Examination of records revealed discrepancies in the names of firms and documents related to the drug trade. Medicines were found stored at the premises, but no valid drug sale licence could be produced. The team also recovered GARON-100 tablets containing Phenobarbitone, an NDPS component, in addition to samples of Gabanyl-300 (Gabapentin Capsules IP), Telmevas-H (Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets IP) and Trueclam 625 (Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets IP 625 mg) for quality testing. Officials said no final conclusion regarding the quality of the medicines would be drawn until the lab reports are received....
