Bharatpur/Dholpur, April 17 -- A 38-year-old man allegedly killed his 35-year-old wife in Dholpur district, police said on Thursday. According to police, the incident took place in village Bhura Ka Pura under Sempau police station on Wednesday midnight when Dinesh Kushwaha attacked his wife, Mathura Devi, with lathis and absconded after killing her. On being informed, police reached the spot on Thursday morning and called the Forensic Laboratory Team to the spot. Her body was handed over to family members after post-mortem examination, police said. Gudiya, the deceased's sister, said her sister was married to Dinesh Kushwaha in 2011 and he allegedly started to torture her over "doubts on her character". Sempau circle officer Anup Singh said that based on a complaint by father of the deceased, a case has been registered against Dinesh Kushwaha under BNS Section 103 for killing his wife.
