Alwar, May 19 -- A man posing as a delivery boy allegedly barged into a flat in Bhiwadi's Ashiana Tarang Society on Monday morning, held a two-year-old child at knifepoint and took the child's mother hostage before fleeing with cash, jewellery and valuables worth around Rs.2.5 lakh, police said. According to police, the incident took place in Ashiana Tarang Society in Bhiwadi when the accused entered the house pretending to deliver a parcel and later threatened the child by placing a knife on his neck.The accused allegedly tied up the woman, ransacked the house for nearly 20 minutes and even received another courier parcel during the robbery before escaping, police said. Bhiwadi SP Brijesh Upadhyay said police teams rushed to the spot after receiving information around 10 am and launched an investigation. He said teams have been formed and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined, adding that the accused would be arrested soon. Flat owner Shubham Saxena told police that he had left for duty around 9 am after his vehicle developed a puncture. A parcel was expected to arrive at the house on Monday. Around 9.15 am, a young man arrived at the flat while Shubham's wife Apoorva Saxena and their two-year-old son were alone at home. When Apoorva asked who he was, the man claimed he had come to deliver a parcel. As soon as she opened the door, the accused allegedly forced his way inside. The accused allegedly threatened to kill the child if she did not hand over all the cash and jewellery kept in the house. Police said the accused then took the woman inside a room, tied her hands with a cloth he had brought along, and forced her to open cupboards and lockers in different rooms of the flat. He allegedly looted around Rs.70,000 in cash, gold bangles, and the woman's mobile phone. Before fleeing, he allegedly locked her inside the house. The woman managed to free herself and raised an alarm. Neighbours rushed to help, opened the outer latch and informed the police....
