Man, 33, cuts off mother-in-law's nose, flees with severed part
Barmer/Jalore, March 9 -- A 33-year-old man in Rajasthan's Jalore district allegedly sliced off his mother-in-law's nose with scissors amid a bitter family dispute and fled the scene clutching the severed part, police said.
According to the police, the man, Sohanlal Kadwarsa, attacked his mother-in-law, Kaili Devi, around 5 pm on Saturday. while the latter was on her way to the police station to file a complaint against the accused.
Sarwana circle inspector Mohanlal Kumawat said, "Kadwarsa had married Sarita around six years ago under the traditional 'Aata-Sata' system. The couple faced marital issues for nearly a year, prompting Sarita to live separately. Community panchayat meetings failed to resolve the rift. Kaili Devi (52), who is receiving treatment at a hospital in Mehsana, Gujarat, said a heated argument erupted around 2 pm on Saturday, spurring her to visit the Sarwana police station."
En route, Sohanlal allegedly attacked Kaili, severing her nose with scissors before fleeing with it. Kaili Devi was rushed to the government hospital in Sanchore, but her severe injuries necessitated transfer to Mehsana police said. Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the fugitive....
