Barmer/Jaisalmer, Aug. 1 -- An SUV collided with a camel and overturned multiple times, killing an Indian Army Major and the camel and leaving two officers injured, police said on Thursday. The accident occurred around 12:30 am near the Thaiyat Army area in Jaisalmer, nearly 18 km from Jaisalmer city. According to ASI Jagdish Charan, the SUV, driven by Major Hamza Arif (26), was returning to the Army station after completing duty when a camel suddenly came onto the road. The vehicle hit the animal, rolled over four to five times, and skidded for nearly 100 metres before coming to a halt. Major Hamza Arif, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, was declared dead on arrival.
