Bikaner, June 23 -- Tension prevailed outside the PBM Hospital mortuary on Monday as family members of a 26-year-old woman who died after developing severe complications following a caesarean section refused to allow a postmortem and staged a sit-in demanding action against those responsible for her death. The protesters alleged that hospital authorities had neither clearly explained the cause of death nor shared any inquiry findings with the family. We want to know the reason for her death. No report has been shown to us so far- Sharda's father, Heera Lal Nayak, told HT. According to Nayak, Sharda was admitted to PBM Hospital on June 3 and delivered a baby through a caesarean section on June 4. Her health deteriorated the next day and she was shifted to the intensive care unit, where she remained on ventilator support for nearly 20 days before dying on Sunday evening. Sharda is the second woman to die in the widely discussed case involving six women who developed acute kidney failure and other serious complications after deliveries at PBM Hospital over the past month. Another patient, Preeti, died on Friday after remaining on ventilator support for nearly 20 days. Multiple inquiry committees have already submitted their reports and recommendations. However, the findings have not yet been made public. Hospital administration held talks with the family to persuade them to allow the postmortem and end the protest, but no breakthrough had been reported....
