Karni Sena Issues Threat to Pb Guv Over Maharana Pratap Remark
Udaipur, Dec. 27 -- The Kshatriya Karni Sena has issued a threat to Punjab governor Gulab Chand Kataria following a controversial statement he made about Maharana Pratap during a programme in Gogunda, Udaipur.
Karni Sena national president Raj Shekhawat posted a message on social media, accusing Kataria of insulting Maharana Pratap and warning him to "stay within his limits."
In the post, Shekhawat alleged that Kataria had earlier also disrespected Maharana Pratap and called upon Karni Sena members to confront him wherever they find him. In his speech, Kataria had spoken about development works carried out during earlier BJP governments and compared political narratives around Maharana Pratap.
The controversy began three days ago when Gulab Chand Kataria participated in a Shilanyas (foundation stone laying) programme in the Dhooli Ghati area of Gogunda on December 22. During his address, Kataria made remarks about Maharana Pratap that were termed controversial by several groups.
So far, Gulab Chand Kataria has not filed any formal complaint regarding the threat.
An attempt was made to contact Gulab Chand Kataria, but he did not answer the phone.
Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal said, "The matter has come to the police's notice and is currently under verification. Police are examining the statements and social media posts related to the issue." htc...
