Kallol Choudhury: A voice across languages
India, July 24 -- Kallol Choudhury is a distinguished bilingual author, poet and acclaimed translator whose literary journey bridges the rich traditions of Bengali and English. Emerging as a compelling voice from North-East India, his body of work spans poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
His debut poetry collection Buddha on Planchette established his distinctive literary voice. His versatility is further reflected in Potpourri, a collection of socio-political commentaries, and Shanbiler Chhele, an exploration of Bengali storytelling. As a translator, Choudhury has made a significant contribution through Samparka, which introduced Bengali readers to the award-winning poetry of Jayanta Mahapatra.
Recognised internationally with Argentina's Invierno Revista Award, Choudhury combines his prolific literary career with a deep commitment to social activism and human welfare.
Most recently, he was honoured with the prestigious Literary Wits Award in the Best Male Translator category, further cementing his contribution to the literary world.
