JODHPUR/JAIPUR, Sept. 27 -- Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, who served as Acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court for nearly 11 months before Chief Justice Sanjay K Agrawal succeeded him earlier this month, retired on Saturday upon attaining the age of superannuation. Elevated as a judge of the Rajasthan High Court in 2016, Justice Sharma later served on the Patna and Punjab & Haryana High Courts before returning to Rajasthan. He took over as Acting Chief Justice in September 2025. His tenure drew national attention last month after SC judge Justice Sandeep Mehta wrote multiple letters to the CJI alleging misuse of administrative powers and seeking Justice Sharma's replacement. Justice Sharma publicly rejected the allegations, describing them as baseless, and said he had placed his response before the Supreme Court through the institutional mechanism.
