Jeweller's Murder Sparks Indefinite Sit-In
Bharatpur, April 25 -- Hundreds of locals staged an indefinite sit-in at the Nadbai tehsil office on Friday, led by a woman whose jeweller husband was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Bharatpur.
According to officials, the protesters are demanding the immediate arrest of the accused, along with a government job for a member of the victim's family, and adequate compensation.
Yogendra Chopra (47), a jeweller, was shot dead and jewellery worth Rs.60 lakh was looted from him on the evening of March 25. The incident occurred on Nagar Road in Nadbai town when unidentified men attacked Chopra while he was returning home from his shop....
