Jaipur police flag off women PCR vehicles
Jaipur, April 13 -- The Jaipur Police Commissionerate on Sunday flagged off five dedicated women PCR vans for city patrol to strengthen the safety and security of women and girls.
The vehicles were launched in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Ranjita Sharma and Additional DCP Ranu Sharma, officials said.
Providing details, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Administration) Yogesh Dadhich said the deployment has been planned keeping women's safety as a priority. The PCR vans will operate in two shifts-morning shift from 7 am to 3 pm and evening shift from 3 pm to 11 pm.
He said all the vans will function under the supervision of the police control room and will respond promptly to complaints received on the women's helpline 1090.
The women PCR units will conduct regular patrols in crowded areas and locations with high footfall of women, including school and college zones, marketplaces, and shopping malls.
