Jaipur, Sept. 25 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday caught two engineers and a police officer red-handed while accepting bribes in separate cases, officials said. Acting on a complaint, ACB Bhilwara-I arrested Rajkumar Moondda, assistant engineer at the office of the additional district project coordinator (Samagra Shiksha), and Bharat Bhushan Goyal, junior engineer (on contract), outside the project office. ACB ADG Smita Srivastava said the complainant had alleged that the officials demanded 3% commission - Rs.48,000 - on pending bills, along with additional payment linked to previous works. During the trap, Goyal accepted Rs.50,000 from the complainant and informed Moondda over phone. The bribe money, including Rs.30,000 in currency notes and Rs.20,000 in dummy notes, was recovered from Goyal's trouser pocket. The operation was conducted under the supervision of DIG Anil Kayal and led by DySP Parasmal. Both accused have been detained, and a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered. Further investigation is underway. In another case, the ACB arrested Bane Singh, assistant sub-inspector posted at Kanota police station, Jaipur (East) today, for taking a bribe of Rs.30,000. Srivastava said a complaint was filed alleging that the ASI demanded money to ensure action against the opposing party in a case lodged by the complainant, and to suppress a counter-complaint filed against him.
