India, May 11 -- The global success of the recently released series, If Wishes Could Kill, has turned its cast into overnight stars. Riding the success, South Korean actor and singer Kang Mi-Na opens up about the experience, the pressures that came with it, and what may come next. "I honestly did not expect this level of response," she says. Sharing that she was drawn to the idea of a phone disrupting the lives of teenage users, the 26-year-old says, "When I first received the script, I ended up reading it in one sitting... I found the backstory of how the Girigo application was created and cursed particularly compelling." Opening up about the challenges of playing Lim Na Ri, a character with strong negative traits, she says she avoided judging her and aimed to portray her as naturally as possible. When asked if the show had changed her relationship with technology, "Not significantly," jokingly adding, "But if an app like Girigo actually existed, I definitely wouldn't dare to download it." On the topic of whether she would be keen on an Indian collaboration, she says, "If given a good opportunity, I'm always ready and willing to give it my best."...
