Ajmer, Aug. 8 -- A hotel operator, who was shot at by a liquor trader in Rajasthan's Nagaur district, died en route to hospital after the ambulance carrying him met with an accident, police said on Friday. According to police, the liquor trader, identified as Mahipal Bishnoi, allegedly shot hotel operator Ram Kumar alias Ramdas while jokingly displaying a country-made pistol. The incident took place around 4:30 am on Friday in Kharnal village under the Sadar police station limits. Police are searching for the accused liquor trader. Additional Superintendent of Police Asaram Choudhary said that around 3:30 am, Mahipal, a resident of Nandiya village in Bhopalgarh, Jodhpur, arrived at Neelkanth Hotel in Kharnal. Mahipal and Ramdas, originally from Bihar, knew each other. After having food at the hotel, Mahipal asked for tea. During this time, he took out a country-made pistol and was showing it to Ramkumar when it accidentally discharged. According to police, the investigation revealed that the gun went off accidentally. The bullet struck Ramkumar in the chest and exited near his shoulder, causing him to collapse on the spot. While being taken to a hospital in Jodhpur, a stray animal suddenly came in front of the ambulance, causing the driver to lose control. The ambulance crashed into the wall of an under-construction drain and overturned. Ramkumar died in the accident, while the ambulance driver, other hotel staff sustained injuries....
