Jaipur, July 9 -- Monsoon remained active across parts of Rajasthan on Wednesday, bringing heavy rainfall to several districts and causing waterlogging in low-lying areas. Alwar was among the worst-hit districts, where torrential rain submerged roads, flooded public facilities and disrupted normal life. In Alwar city, several market areas were inundated after heavy rain since Wednesday morning, with water levels rising above two feet in some places. The premises of the district hospital were also flooded, making it difficult for patients and attendants to move around. In Bharatpur district, rain began around 5 am in Nadbai and continued for several hours. Waterlogging was reported from several areas, including Railway Station Road. In Bayana, seasonal waterfalls started flowing from the hills around Imalia Kund and Shergarh village following the rainfall. Jaipur and adjoining NCR areas also received intermittent showers during the morning. Light to moderate rainfall was reported from Chomu and other rural parts of Jaipur district. The continuous rainfall also brought down temperatures in Alwar by around 2 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, the active monsoon conditions are being driven by a well-marked low-pressure area over northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of Uttar Pradesh. The system is expected to continue moving northwestwards while remaining well-marked over the next 24 hours. The weather office has forecast that monsoon activity will remain active across parts of Rajasthan for the next two to three days before gradually weakening from July 11 onwards....
