JODHPUR, Sept. 4 -- The Rajasthan high court has withdrawn its Phase-VI Action Plan prescribing targeted disposal of old cases in subordinate courts, meeting one of the key demands of protesting lawyers. However, the boycott of judicial work will continue until September 6, even as acting chief justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma has rejected allegations against him as 'baseless' and attributed them to 'animosity'. The withdrawal was conveyed through a letter issued on Thursday by the Registrar (Administration) to all district and sessions judges, rescinding the earlier directive of August 11. The plan had fixed disposal targets for different categories of courts, including Exclusive Special Courts and Magistrates, and required all cases pending for 20 years to be cleared by December 31, 2026. Rajasthan High Court Lawyers Association, Jodhpur president Dilip Singh Udawat welcomed the decision, calling it a crucial step towards addressing the advocates' demands.
