govt to roll out mental health assessment tool at 3 med colleges
Jaipur, July 31 -- The state government will introduce a web-based digital mental health assessment tool at Jaipur and Jodhpur Medical Colleges and AIIMS Jodhpur under the Raj Mamta Programme to strengthen early detection and treatment of mental health issues, a senior minister said on Thursday.
State health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar said the initiative was part of the budget announcement by chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to expand mental healthcare and prevent depression, anxiety and suicide through the Raj Mamta Programme.
Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health, Gayatri Rathore said the Global Mental Health Assessment Tool (GMHAT), a web-based digital platform, functions through a structured digital interview in which patients are assessed using a standard set of questions.
Once the assessment is completed, the system generates a report highlighting possible mental health conditions and suggesting treatment, added the additional chief secretary....
