Govt signs mous for wildlife conservation in sariska reserve
Jaipur, May 27 -- The Rajasthan Forest Department on Tuesday signed multiple MoUs with corporate and social organisations for wildlife conservation and infrastructure development at Sariska Tiger Reserve and Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.
The agreements were signed at Aranya Bhawan in Jaipur in the presence of Rajasthan Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma.
Under the agreement, Shine Foundation agreed to construct a convention centre at Sariska at a cost of Rs 1.04 crore. The facility will be used by the Forest Department for conferences, meetings and training sessions.
In another MoU, Vedanta Group's social impact arm, the Anil Agarwal Foundation's flagship animal welfare initiative will establish the Nature Interpretation Centre at Sariska Tiger Reserve. The proposed centre aims to promote wildlife conservation awareness, environmental education and community participation.
During the programme, Sharma also flagged off eight surveillance vehicles for Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. The vehicles are expected to strengthen round-the-clock monitoring, improve mobility of field teams, enhance patrolling and support quick response systems for wildlife protection.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said Rajasthan was taking rapid steps towards strengthening wildlife conservation and the proposed projects would further accelerate these efforts....
