Jaipur, Aug. 2 -- The state medical education department on Saturday ordered all government and private medical and dental colleges in the state to strictly implement the revised NEET UG 2026 counselling guidelines issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the state counselling board. Medical education commissioner Babulal Goyal instructed colleges to appoint a nodal officer along with separate officers for online and physical document verification. He said online verification must be completed within the prescribed timeline, failing which allotted seats could be cancelled automatically. Colleges were also directed to promptly update admission fee details on the counselling portal and process seat withdrawals as per the rules. The department also announced several changes for this year's counselling. Candidates opting for the "Freeze" option will have to report physically to their allotted college for document verification and fee submission, while those choosing the "Float" option can complete document verification online during seat upgradation rounds and will not be required to report physically until the third round or final allotment. Officials said the verified list of admitted candidates will be uploaded after the second round of state counselling to curb seat blocking and return vacant seats to the counselling pool. Online document verification has also been introduced for NRI candidates in line with Supreme Court directions, while candidates with disabilities will be assessed under revised NMC norms using a mandatory UDID card, they said. An appellate disability evaluation board has also been constituted. The commissioner ordered the setup of a state-level helpdesk, call centre, email support system and bilingual guidance material to helo candidates throughout the counselling process, including on holidays.
