Jaipur, Aug. 11 -- The state government has identified districts and blocks reporting high consumption and relatively low availability for priority distribution of fertisers, state agriculture minister Dr Kirori Lal said on Monday. . The minister said the state government was continuously coordinating with the Centre to ensure supplies according to Rajasthan's requirement. Despite global supply challenges, the state has so far received 12.29 lakh metric tonnes of urea, including the stock available on April 1, against the Centre's allocation of 9.28 lakh metric tonnes for the April-August period of Kharif 2026. This amounts to 132% of the allocation. Another 1.33 lakh metric tonnes of urea is expected to be supplied in August. DAP availability, however, has remained below the state's requirement. Against a demand of 3.80 lakh metric tonnes for April-August, 2.92 lakh metric tonnes has been made available so far, including the stock on April 1. The minister attributed the shortfall to disruption in imported DAP supplies amid the conflict in Central Asia. The state is expecting another one lakh metric tonnes of DAP during the remaining period of August. To compensate for the lower DAP availability, the government has arranged 1.49 lakh metric tonnes of NPK and 3.50 lakh metric tonnes of SSP. Overall, farmers have been provided 7.91 lakh metric tonnes of phosphatic fertilisers, the minister said....
