Jaipur, Aug. 13 -- The state government has approved Rs.381.91 crore to build Atal Pragati Paths in the remaining 192 villages with a population of more than 5,000, in a major push to strengthen rural road connectivity across the state. The project will cover 28 districts and involve building and strengthening of around 286 km of roads. Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said the government's objective is to ensure that every village and populated area in Rajasthan is connected by roads so that the benefits of development reach the last mile. "Roads are not merely a means of transportation but a basic infrastructure link that drives education, healthcare, employment, trade and the rural economy," Sharma said. He said the construction of Atal Pragati Paths would make travel easier for rural residents, reduce travel time and transportation costs and provide a boost to local economic activity.
