Express train to boost connectivity between Ahmedabad, Bikaner
Jaipur, June 16 -- Residents of Rajasthan and Gujarat are set to get a boost in rail connectivity with the upcoming launch of the Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Bikaner (Lalgarh) Express. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is expected to flag off the new train service shortly, providing a direct, faster and more convenient rail link between Ahmedabad and Bikaner.
The new express train will establish daily connectivity between the two cities, covering a distance of around 740 kilometres. Railway officials said the service will benefit passengers, students, job seekers, traders and tourists while strengthening economic and cultural ties between Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The train will connect key districts including Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Patan and Banaskantha in Gujarat, and Jalore, Balotra, Jodhpur, Nagaur and Bikaner in Rajasthan. Major halts will include Sabarmati, Mehsana, Patan, Bhildi, Dhanera, Raniwara, Marwar Bhinmal, Jalore, Mokalsar, Samdari, Luni, Jodhpur, Merta Road, Nagaur, Nokha, Bikaner and Lalgarh.
The service is also expected to boost tourism by linking some of western India's most popular destinations....
