Jaipur, Aug. 10 -- A security staff member, currently working for former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, has been arrested along with his son by the state special operation group (SOG) on Saturday in connection with the sub-inspector 2021 paper leak case, said officials. "The alleged role of the man, identified as Rajkumar Yadav, came to the fore during questioning of another arrested trainee sub inspector, Satyendra Yadav. It was found that Rajkumar accessed the question paper much before the exam and gave it to his son Bharat Yadav and another individual Ravindra Soni. Though Soni is still absconding, Bharat cleared the written test of SI-2021 exam but failed to appear for the medical examination due to a fracture in his leg in an accident," said additional director general of police of the SOG, VK Singh. He said, "Both have been arrested from Jaipur on Saturday's wee hours and produced before the court in the morning. The court has granted a remand for both of them till August 12." Reacting to the matter, Ashok Gehlot said, "It came to my notice that one of my security staff and his son have been arrested in connection to SI-2021 paper leak case. Any person, involved in such a crime should be punished as per the law. I hope SOG will take necessary action." Meanwhile, another senior official of the SOG, requesting anonymity, said, "Rajkumar is a head constable at the Jaipur police commissionerate and was appointed as one of the two security staff for ex-CM Gehlot last year. Though he was not part of his security team in 2021, he had previously worked for many other ministers including the former minister and Banswara MP Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya." "Prima facie, he received the paper from Kundan Pandya who was arrested earlier this June for getting access to the paper directly from former Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) member Babulal Katara," the officer said. At least three people including Kundan, who have been arrested by the SOG on June 7 for supplying SI-2021 question papers to three other candidates before the exam, received the paper directly from ex-RPSC members Ramu Ram Raika and Babulal Katara, the agency's latest probe into the matter revealed. Raika and Katara were arrested by the SOG on September 2 last year only a day after the arrest of Raika's two children, Shobha and Devesh, for securing top ranks in the exam in 2021 by getting access to the question papers a week before the test. However, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to both Shobha and Devesh . "It was found that Katara gave two sets of the question papers to Ramu Ram 10 days before the exam in handwritten form. Ramu Ram had not only shared it with his children, we suspect he sold it to several other people as well. Our teams are probing who shared the paper with him and at what cost he sold it to others," said the officer. Raika was a member of the RPSC for a period of four years from 2018 to 2022 when another RPSC member Babu Lal Katara was arrested by the SOG for his alleged involvement in the paper leak of the 2022 Senior Teachers' Recruitment Examination. With the latest arrests, the SOG has arrested 120 people in connection with the paper leak case, including 54 trainee sub inspectors....
