Alwar, April 23 -- Unidentified men allegedly kidnapped a 69-year-old woman from outside her home in Alwar district, assaulted her and robbed her of jewellery worth around Rs.8 lakh before dumping her unconscious in a forest 16 km away, police said on Wednesday. According to police, the victim, Tulsa Devi, was sleeping outside her house when a group of assailants arrived in a car around 1am. The accused allegedly gagged her by stuffing cloth into her mouth, wrapped her in a blanket and forcibly abducted her. Malakheda SHO Hardayal said the family members were asleep inside the house at the time of the incident. "The victim's daughter-in-law, Tara Devi, woke up during the commotion and raised an alarm, but the accused managed to flee with the elderly woman," said Hardayal. Police said the accused assaulted the victim and robbed her of jewellery worth around Rs.8 lakh. The woman sustained injuries to her legs and face during the assault and has been admitted to a local hospital in Malakheda, where she is undergoing treatment.
