Barmer/Jaisalmer, April 19 -- An elderly couple in Jaisalmer died under suspicious circumstances Saturday, with police suspecting robbery after discovering missing jewellery and intruder footprints at their home, officers said. The deceased were identified as Lakharam, 90, son of Pehladram, and his wife Reshma, 85. With no children, the couple lived alone, leaving them vulnerable. The incident occurred in Bhil Basti in the Mohangarh area, about 65 km from Jaisalmer. Chandaram, the couple's nephew, found the bodies around 9 am when he visited their home. Police suspect robbery. Silver anklets Reshma had worn were missing, and footprints near the house suggested intruders, officers said.
