Dostara's son qualified for RAS with fake OBC certificate: Meena
Jaipur, June 24 -- Rajasthan's cabinet minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena has written to chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, demanding an FIR against Rajasthan Congress Committee (PCC) chief Govind Singh Dotasra and Dotasra's relative, retired district education officer Ramesh Chand Poonia, accusing them of using fraudulent OBC certificates to secure RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) selections for their children.
In the letter to the CM, dated June 22, Meena alleged that Dotasra's son, Avinash Singh Dotasra, obtained a fake OBC certificate to qualify for the RAS Exam 2016, in which he was selected to the Accounts Service with 428 total marks, including 85 interview marks. Meena contrasted this with the case of Garima Jindal, who he said topped the Mains examination with 425 marks but received only 25 marks at the interview stage and consequently missed out on a regular RAS posting.
The letter further alleges that Ramesh Chand Poonia, whose daughter Pratibha Poonia is married to Dotasra's son, similarly procured fraudulent OBC certificates for all three of his children, citing official RPSC marksheets showing Pratibha Poonia (RAS 2016), Gaurav Poonia and Prabha Poonia (both RAS 2018) listed in the OBC category.
Meena contends the family should fall under the OBC "creamy layer" exclusion, pointing to a 2019 state government circular which holds that anyone who reaches the post of Lecturer, School Education, before the age of 40 is excluded from OBC quota benefits. Poonia, the letter states, became a government Headmaster-a post senior to Lecturer-at age 32, making the family ineligible by Meena's reading of the circular.
Meena also cited what he described as statements given to police by former RPSC members Babulal Katara and Ramaram Rayka, in which they reportedly acknowledged facing pressure from Dotasra to award favourable interview marks to these candidates.
Based on these allegations, Meena has asked the Chief Minister to direct RPSC, Ajmer, or another appropriate agency to register a case against Dotasra, Poonia, and the named family members under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including provisions relating to forgery, cheating, and giving false evidence.
Congress spokesperson Swarnim Chaturvedi on Tuesday alleged that the BJP government was trying to divert attention from the issue of officials linked to the party and the Agriculture Department being caught allegedly indulging in extortion during raids against fake fertilisers and seeds in Rajasthan.
Chaturvedi said the matter had been strongly raised by Rajasthan Congress president, and claimed that Agriculture Minister's allegations were being made out of "political vendetta" to shift focus from the issue...
