Kota, Sept. 23 -- Four members of a family - a doctor at a government hospital, his physician wife and their two minor children - were killed after their car collided head-on with a bulk carrier truck on the Kawai-Atru road in Baran district on Tuesday morning, police said. According to police, the family was travelling from Chhabra towards Jaipur when the car collided with the truck. The accident occurred around 11 am under the Kawai police station area, circle inspector Rajpal Singh said. The impact was severe, leaving the car badly damaged and trapping all four occupants inside, police said, adding that Kawai police reached the spot after being informed about the accident. With the help of passersby, the occupants were pulled out of the wreckage and taken to a hospital, where doctors declared all four dead, police said. The deceased were identified as Dr Suresh Gajraj, 38, a resident of Surajgarh in Jhunjhunu district who was serving as the principal medical officer at the sub-district hospital in Mandalgarh, Bhilwara and his wife, Dr Shalini Maurya, 25, was also posted at the Mandalgarh hospital and their two children, 12-year-old Swapnil and seven-year-old Nilisha. Kawai police station SHO Rajpal Singh Yadav said "Preliminary investigation suggested that the two vehicles collided head-on. The bulk carrier driver fled the spot after the accident, while police have seized the vehicle and launched a search for the driver." Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident and a manhunt is underway to trace and apprehend the absconding truck driver, he added....
