Jaipur, Aug. 5 -- The Jaipur Police Commissionerate has imposed fresh restrictions on drone operations, hookah bars, Airbnb and homestay guest verification, and DJs and high-volume sound systems to maintain law and order and ensure public safety. The four prohibitory orders, issued by Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Dr Rajeev Pachar under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, will remain in force from August 5 to October 3, 2026. Violations will invite action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws. Drones weighing more than 250 grams, including micro-category drones and above, cannot be flown without prior permission from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Operators of nano drones must inform the local police station at least 24 hours before photography or videography. Drone flights above 50 feet are prohibited, while operations in restricted or prohibited zones will require mandatory licences and permissions. The police have also banned hookah bars and the use of hookahs at hotels, restaurants, guest houses, pubs, nightclubs, malls, farmhouses and other commercial establishments within the commissionerate limits. Owners of flats, farmhouses, homestays and other residential properties rented through online platforms such as Airbnb must verify every guest's identity before allowing them to stay. They must maintain the guest's name, address, mobile number and a copy of a valid government-issued ID, such as an Aadhaar card or driving licence, and immediately inform police about any suspicious guest or activity. Prior permission will be mandatory for DJs and high-volume sound systems at public and social events. No such events will be permitted between 10pm and 6am, and organisers must keep sound levels within prescribed limits. DJ vehicles fitted with generators and loudspeakers will also require authorisation. The commissionerate said the orders were issued as ex parte preventive measures in the interest of public safety and maintaining peace.
