Bharatpur/Jhunjhunu, April 18 -- A couple was found hanging on a tree on Friday in Jhunjhunu, police said, adding that a packet of poison was recovered from the site. The incident occurred in forest area near Bhodki village under Gudhagorji police station. On being informed,police reached the spot and pulled the couple's bodies down and sent them to the district hospital where doctors declared them dead. The deceased woman was 27 years old and from Jhunjhunu district while the deceased man was 31 and from Bhiwani in Haryana. She was unmarried while the man was married and a soldier in the Army, police said. They were found hanging and a bottle of water and a poison packet was found lying near the tree, police said. Prima facie, it seems that they consumed poison then hanged themselves by the tree, police said. The deceased man was identified and his family members were informed about the incident, police said. Head constable of Gudhagorji police station Kanaram Parewa said that bodies were handed over to family members after autopsy.
