Jaipur, Oct. 7 -- Chief secretary Sudhansh Pant on Monday directed strict monitoring of cough syrup distribution and use across Rajasthan, warning manufacturers of stringent action if substandard drugs are found.
He emphasized that any negligence in healthcare delivery will be held accountable, urged public awareness to take medicines only under doctors' guidance, and called for strict adherence to drug protocols by medical practitioners, pharmacists, and health workers.
Pant also ordered clear warnings on potentially harmful medicines for children and pregnant women and stepped-up awareness campaigns through door-to-door surveys and IEC activities.He directed strict monitoring of the distribution and use of such medicines across the state.
"Any negligence in the delivery of medical and health services will be accounted for," he said.
Pant issued special directives to mark warnings on medicines that could harm children and pregnant women.
Additionally, he called for intensified public awareness campaigns through door-to-door surveys and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities to prevent people from taking medicines without medical advice....
