Jaipur, June 29 -- A Jaipur police constable has been reassigned to the police lines after a woman alleged that he pushed her momo cart and spilled boiling water on her while clearing the route for chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's convoy, according to an official release. A complaint was filed seven days ago by the victim, Reshu Gupta, alleging that constable Narendra pushed her cart despite being informed that it had a vessel of boiling water, causing it to spill and leaving her with severe burn injuries. The government has also announced that it will bear the entire cost of the victim's treatment, extend financial assistance to the family, and allot a dairy booth to help rehabilitate their livelihood. Meanwhile, Greater Jaipur Municipal Corporation commissioner Om Kasera and deputy commissioner Neelam Meena visited the victim's residence in Pratap Nagar. According to officials, the entire cost of Reshu Gupta's medical treatment will be borne by the state. Financial assistance will also be provided to help the family rebuild its livelihood. The incident allegedly took place on June 19 on Mahal Road in Jagatpura, shortly before chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's convoy was scheduled to pass through the area. According to the complaint, police personnel were clearing roadside vendors from the route when an altercation broke out with Gupta, who was operating a momo cart. Gupta alleged that police acted without giving prior notice to vacate the spot.
