Jaipur, Sept. 30 -- Chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday said enforcing the rule of law and cracking down on criminals is the government's top priority, asserting that crime in the state has seen a marked decline with overall cases dropping nearly 20% in two years and crimes against women down by 9.24%. "Establishing the rule of law and taking strict action against criminals is the state government's top priority, as peace and a secure environment are essential for development. Several revolutionary steps have been taken to modernize and strengthen the police system, ensuring a fear-free atmosphere for citizens," said Sharma. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of three new police stations, including Narayan Vihar, Sharma said that this was not merely the launch of new police buildings but a strong step toward making the state safer. The state has created offices for two Additional SPs and two DSPs, sanctioned 22 new police stations, upgraded 8 police outposts to police stations, and approved 35 new police outposts. An Anti-Gangsters Task Force has been set up under the Additional DGP (Crime), while a new police station and 9 new outposts have been created in Jaipur headquarters for the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, with 255 new posts sanctioned. Sharma announced that 65 Anti-Romeo Squads are active across schools, colleges, markets, religious places, malls, and bus stands to curb crimes. Three women battalions-Padmini, Kali Bai, and Amrita Devi-have been formed with 2,216 posts approved. For women and girls' safety, 500 Kalika Patrolling Units have been deployed, while the 1090 Women's Helpline and RajCop app are ensuring swift grievance redressal. The CM said that criminal records at all police stations have been digitized, while lists of arrested and missing persons are now available on the Rajasthan Police web portal. To improve response time, 25 interceptor vehicles, 750 motorcycles, and 500 police mobile units have been deployed. Regional Forensic Science Laboratories (FSLs) have been strengthened with 123 new posts for timely and accurate investigations. Honorariums for Home Guard volunteers have been increased by 10% for two consecutive years, and 2,000 new constable posts have been created to speed up recruitment. From 2023 to 2025, overall crimes have fallen by 19.45%, with a 13.90% drop between 2024 and 2025. Atrocities against Scheduled Castes have decreased by 17.80%, against Scheduled Tribes by 18.77%, while cases of crimes against women have declined by 9.24%....
