Jaipur, Oct. 16 -- Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully has launched a sharp attack on the Rajasthan government following the Jaisalmer bus fire that claimed 20 lives, calling it a "clear case of government negligence and failure of monitoring." Jully said, "This is a major tragedy, and it exposes the government's weakness and negligence. Buses are running without permits, without fitness certificates, and even carrying explosives inside - what is the administration doing? When will the so-called double-engine government actually work?" He also alleged that the administration was trying to downplay the tragedy. "Every time an accident happens, the government hides figures instead of fixing responsibility. Rather than prioritizing people's safety, it focuses only on publicity," he said. Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot said, "...I have heard that the bus involved in the fire was purchased only about ten days ago - so the possibility of a technical fault cannot be ruled out. The government should not take this lightly and must formally approach the manufacturer for a technical review." BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj accused the Congress of politicizing even tragic incidents.
