Child dies after being hit by min's convoy vehicle
Bharatpur, Oct. 15 -- A five-year-old boy, who was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle in the convoy of Rajasthan energy minister Heeralal Nagar, died during treatment. His body was brought to his village in Tonk from Jaipur on Tuesday.
Tonk superintendent of police Rajesh Meena said, "The accident took place on Sunday when some children crossed the Kota-Jaipur National Highway but a child among them was unfortunately hit by a convoy vehicle. Cops in the vehicle tried to steer away but overturned. Accidental assurance and other benefits will be provided to the victim's family."
The child was first taken to the Deoli Community Health Centre, but doctors referred him to Jaipur for advanced treatment, where he was declared dead on Monday. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to family members, who took it to their village, Gopipura, in Tonk district.
Following the collision, the police vehicle overturned, injuring four policemen. The vehicle was part of the minister's escort, travelling behind Nagar's car.
The deceased child was the only son among five siblings. His parents work as daily wage labourers. The father of the child has lodged a complaint at the Deoli police station regarding the incident....
