Jaipur, Aug. 22 -- The Centre has granted chief secretary V Srinivas a six-month extension by the Centre, allowing him to continue in the post until February 28, 2027. Srinivas was scheduled to retire on August 31. The approval followed a state government proposal sent to the Union ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions on July 23. A 1989-batch IAS officer, Srinivas took charge on November 17, 2025, after former chief secretary Sudhansh Pant went on central deputation. Before taking charge, Srinivas had spent around 7 years on central deputation.
