centre approves expansion of nagaur-bikaner stretch of nh-62
Jaipur, June 11 -- The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the four-laning of the Nagaur-Bikaner section of National Highway-62, an official release from the chief minister's office said on Wednesday.
The project will be developed at an estimated cost of around Rs.1,359.33 crore under the BOT (toll) model. It is expected to significantly enhance connectivity in western Rajasthan while also boosting investment prospects and generate employment and industrial and tourism activity in the region.
Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that under the vision of the "double-engine government" and strong leadership, infrastructure development in Rajasthan was accelerating continuously.
Sharma added that the project will inject new momentum into economic activities in Nagaur, Bikaner and surrounding areas. He described it as an important step towards realizing the vision of a "Developed Rajasthan," with improved connectivity expected to strengthen regional growth and development....
