CBFC told Dilip Kumar 'How can you say Hey Ram? You are a Muslim': Tigmanshu
India, Sept. 11 -- Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia has revealed that late veteran Dilip Kumar's Ganga Jamuna (1961) faced objections from the Central Board of Film Certification over his character saying "Hey Ram" while dying. "They said, 'How can you say Hey Ram? You are a Muslim'," Dhulia said at an event, adding the makers argued that Kumar, born Muhammad Yusuf Khan, was playing a Hindu character in the film named Ganga. Dhulia said the dispute eventually reached then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who watched the film and found no issue with the dialogue....
