India, March 21 -- T he Voice of Hind Rajab, an Oscar-nominated film that has received global acclaim, has reportedly been blocked from release in India. According to a report, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has refused to certify the film, citing concerns that it may affect India's relationship with Israel. Directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, the film tells the story of a six-year-old girl trapped in a car in war-torn Gaza. Nominated for Best International Feature Film at the Oscars, it stars Saja Kilani, Motaz Malhees, Amer Hlehel and Clara Khoury. As per Variety, the film, which was slated for an India release this month, has now been stalled. Distributor Manoj Nandwana said the CBFC declined certification, with a member reportedly stating, "If it gets released, it would break up the India-Israel relationship." Nandwana contested the claim, saying, "The India-Israel relationship is strong. The film has already released in countries like the US, UK, Italy and France, all of which have ties with Israel. But they still want to censor it." HTC...
