case registered against raj ips officer for rape
Jaipur, May 3 -- An inspector general of Rajasthan Police's human rights cell was booked on Saturday for raping a 53-year-old woman from Jalandhar at his official bungalow three months ago and threatening her since, police said.
Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) Jigyasa of Jaipur's special investigation team said: "The woman is originally from Jalandhar. She sent the complaint to the Malviya Nagar police station on Saturday based on which we have lodged the FIR. We can't reveal much details about the woman's identity."
According to police, the woman alleged that she had known Kishan Sahai Meena, a senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, for over a year. "She alleged that Meena committed to marry her and then invited her to his official bungalow on February 22 where he raped her. Later, he had also been threatening her for the last three months to stop her from filing an FIR. He also allegedly told her that he is associated with a political party and would use his influence to ruin her life if she approached the police," the officer said.
The FIR was registered under section 64(1) (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. "The woman's medical test will be conducted. We will also question the Meena about the matter. Further probe is underway," said ADCP Jigyasa.
Meena dismissed the allegations, and said, "It is a conspiracy against me as I have been promoting scientific ideas and expressing opinions against superstitions in Rajasthan. I am innocent."...
