Jaipur, June 2 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday appointed Ajaey Kumar as the new organisation general secretary of its Rajasthan unit, filling a key organisational post that had remained vacant since January 2024. The appointment, announced by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh on the directions of BJP national president and state in-charge Nitin Nabin, comes as the party prepares for upcoming local body and panchayat elections. Kumar, hailing from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was serving as the organisation general secretary of the BJP in Uttarakhand before being assigned to Rajasthan. The post had remained vacant since the transfer of former organisation general secretary Chandrashekhar to Telangana in January 2024. The appointment is being viewed as strategically important, coming nearly two-and-a-half years before the next Rajasthan assembly elections. Political observers believe one of Kumar's biggest challenges will be addressing factionalism within the state BJP and strengthening coordination among various groups within the organisation. The new organisation general secretary will be tasked with bringing different factions together and ensuring smoother coordination between the party organisation and government. Welcoming the appointment, Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore said Kumar's organisational experience, commitment to workers and leadership skills would provide fresh energy and strength to the party in Rajasthan. Rathore described him as a skilled organiser known for his effectiveness in both political and organisational spheres and expressed confidence that under his guidance the Rajasthan BJP would achieve new milestones in organisational expansion and public outreach. Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also congratulated Kumar, saying his appointment to a politically significant state like Rajasthan reflects the national leadership's confidence in his organisational capabilities and result-oriented working style. "The decision reflects the BJP leadership's belief that experienced and capable organisers can provide new direction and energy to the organisation," Sharma said, expressing confidence that Rajasthan BJP would emerge stronger, more active and more people-centric under Ajaey Kumar's leadership....
