BJP biggest recipient of political donations in Rajasthan: ADR
Jaipur, March 28 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as the biggest recipient of political donations from Rajasthan, securing over three-fourths of the contributions made in the state during 2024-25, a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) released on Thursday said.
The report, based on donation details submitted by political parties to the Election Commission (EC), reveals that Rajasthan contributed a total of Rs.112.97 crore to political parties in the year. Of this, the BJP received Rs.87.51 crore, accounting for 77.46%, while the Congress received Rs.25 crore (22.12%).
Other political parties received only a marginal share, with none crossing even the 1% mark. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received around Rs.39 lakh, while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] got approximately Rs.7 lakh.
The data also shows that Rajasthan ranked seventh in the country in terms of total political donations. A significant portion of the funds came from corporate and business houses, which contributed Rs.69.27 crore, while individual donors accounted for Rs.43.70 crore....
