Barmer/Jaisalmer, Sept. 26 -- A 28-year-old man has been arrested in Rajasthan's Pokaran for allegedly partaking in human trafficking by paying Rs.2 lakh and marrying a girl forcibly , police said on Friday, adding that the 16-year-old has been rescued. According to the complaint, the girl's father, a resident of Arwal district in Bihar, allegedly sold his minor daughter to Pokaran resident Tikam Chand, in connivance with his second wife and acquaintances. The girl's uncle in his written complaint filed on Thursday alleged that she had been sold and forcibly married, police said. SP Abhishek Shivhare formed a team under the supervision of ASP Virendra Singh. Within around 60 minutes of receiving the complaint, the police conducted a raid in the Purohitsar area and safely rescued the girl. The accused, Tikam Chand Mali, was arrested, police said. SHO Manish Soni said the girl was rescued and handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). Since the case originated in Bihar's Arwal district, Pokaran police registered a Zero FIR and forwarded the case to Arwal police for further investigation, police said, adding, the roles of the girl's father and others would also be investigated....
