Ajmer, Sept. 7 -- Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday accused the Congress of corruption, appeasement politics, misleading the public and betraying the youth during a roadshow in Ajmer, and appealed to voters to elect BJP candidates in the ongoing municipal elections. Sharma urged voters to turn the existing "double-engine" government into a "triple-engine" government by bringing the BJP to power in urban local bodies. Addressing supporters, he alleged that Congress had done nothing except "loot" Rajasthan and the country, and accused the party of making false promises and practising appeasement politics. He also alleged that several Congress ministers and officials had faced imprisonment in corruption cases. On employment and paper leaks, Sharma said Congress had failed to fulfil its promises to the youth. "If you cannot give four lakh jobs to the youth, then tell us. You said in the Assembly, 'keep a diary and a pen; if you do not have them, we will send them," he said. Sharma claimed more than 450 examinations had been conducted during the BJP government's two-and-a-half-year tenure without a single paper leak. He said the paper leak mafia was behind bars and warned that the government would not spare anyone involved. He also hit out at Congress leaders questioning the BJP government's employment figures. "There are some leaders in Congress who are weak in mathematics. Some are magicians who cannot see the corruption of their own tenure but have come to give advice to us. They should keep their advice to themselves," Sharma said. Highlighting his government's performance, Sharma claimed 78% of the promises in the BJP's Assembly election manifesto had been fulfilled within two-and-a-half years. He said Rajasthan had witnessed accelerated development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and several long-pending projects had moved towards implementation. He cited the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), agreements on Yamuna and Narmada water, Rs.4,500 crore allocated for the Indira Gandhi Canal Project and plans to bring Bisalpur water from the Brahmani River as examples of the government's work. Sharma also claimed Rajasthan had become self-reliant in electricity production, generating around 12,000 MW. He said Rajasthan Roadways was recovering from losses, with 1,000 new buses added to its fleet and more planned. On employment, Sharma said the BJP government had promised four lakh government jobs and six lakh private-sector jobs. He claimed around 1.80 lakh government jobs and 4.5 lakh private-sector jobs had already been provided. Referring to the "One State, One Election" initiative, Sharma again targeted Congress, saying its leaders had earlier claimed that even their "Kakaji" could not make it possible. "Now they should see who is making it a reality," he said. The roadshow began from Plaza Cinema Road and covered around two kilometres before concluding at Gandhi Bhawan. Supporters welcomed Sharma with flower garlands along the route. Appealing to voters, chief minister Sharma said Rajasthan already had a double-engine government and urged them to add a "third engine" by electing BJP representatives in urban local bodies, arguing that this would further accelerate development....
