Jaipur, Sept. 6 -- Chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday said that Teachers' Day is not just a celebration but a day to express gratitude to educators who shape the future of society.
Addressing the state-level Teachers' felicitation program, he emphasised that teachers are both the architects of life and nation builders. "The state government stands with teachers, which is why several reforms have been implemented in the education sector," he added.
Sharma underlined that his administration is committed to improving the quality of education, teachers' welfare, respect, better working conditions, and ensuring an excellent future for students.
Paying tribute to the great educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, he said, "Dr Radhakrishnan believed that the purpose of education is not just acquiring knowledge but understanding life and instilling values in it."
The CM further cited former President and scientist Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, saying, "A good book is equivalent to a thousand friends, but a good friend is like an entire library. I believe a good teacher is worth a thousand libraries." He added that teachers not only impart knowledge but also inspire dreams, igniting hope in students who may feel disheartened.
Sharma highlighted that teachers guide students in imbibing life values through their own conduct, sowing seeds of truth, non-violence, compassion, service, and patriotism. "They teach humility, honesty, and the principle that serving others is true worship," he said.
