Jaipur, June 2 -- Rajasthan is witnessing an infrastructure push with 81 ongoing central government projects worth more than Rs.2.72 lakh crore across critical sectors including railways, roads, energy, petroleum and civil aviation, according to the latest "PAIMANA" report released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). Among the state's most ambitious projects is the Rajasthan Refinery at Pachpadra in Barmer district. Being developed under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas at a cost of Rs.79,459 crore, the refinery is expected to be inaugurated soon, states an official release from CM's office. In addition, a petrochemical evacuation and marketing terminal being developed by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited in Barmer at a cost of Rs.461 crore is also under construction and is targeted for completion by December 2026. Rajasthan is also expanding its energy infrastructure through 19 transmission projects worth more than Rs.75,000 crores. One of the largest among them is the Rajasthan Part-I Power Transmission Project, estimated at Rs.25,000 crore, which spans Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The projects are aimed at strengthening the transmission network and supporting Rajasthan's growing renewable energy capacity, the release states. According to the report, 23 railway projects under the North Western Railway zone are progressing with a combined investment of Rs.1,64,998 crore. Road infrastructure development continues to gather pace with 28 projects worth nearly Rs.18,000 crore being executed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the National Highways Authority of India. The Airports Authority of India is implementing three major aviation projects in Rajasthan worth Rs.2,874 crore. The most significant among them is the new greenfield airport at Bundi-Kota, approved in August 2025 at a cost of Rs.1,507 crore. The airport is scheduled for completion by November 2027....
