6,900 ltr peanut oil seized, 1,150 kg food destroyed
Jaipur, Aug. 24 -- Rajasthan food safety officials seized 6,900 litres of peanut oil in Jaipur and destroyed around 1,150 kg of allegedly contaminated and substandard food products across the state during a crackdown on Saturday, officials said.
The food safety and drug control department inspected 60 establishments and collected 101 samples as part of its statewide anti-adulteration drive. Of these, 54 were enforcement samples and 47 surveillance samples.
According to the department, 600 litres of suspected contaminated milk was destroyed in Udaipur, while 265 kg of stale and contaminated sweets was disposed of during inspections in Jaipur, Sirohi, Sikar, Karauli, Pali, Ajmer, Hanumangarh and Alwar.
